The Exiled Shaman Masthead

The Wolf and the Moon

Once upon a time there was a wolf who felt like the whole world was against him. He didn't understand why nothing ever seemed to work out, and one night as the moon shined bright he went for a walk to think - to try find some insight.

As the wolf walked he came across a stranger. "Ha! What an ugly nose", said the wolf.

As the wolf walked he came across another stranger. "How can you bring yourself to be out in public with that huge head?!" laughed the wolf.

As the wolf walked he came across another stranger. "You call that a tail?" scoffed the wolf.

As the wolf walked, he passed by a new stranger with every step. And with every new step, he found something wrong with the stranger.

"Everyone I've seen is flawed! Every step I take I see someone I don't like", the wolf howled.

The glowing moon looked back at the wolf, and the wolf opened his eyes. He saw his reflection in the moon. Every step was his own reflection. Every stranger was his own.

The wolf walked back home, and with every new step he saw a new stranger looking back at him.
